Uso de psicofármacos por populações acometidas por desastres: uma revisão integrativa

Natural and unnatural disasters, beside taking lives, can expose survivors to the risk of developing multiple negative outcomes. Among them, occurrence mental health problems stands out, which require non-pharmacological pharmacological management, with use psychotropic drugs such as antidepressants or benzodiazepines. In this context, review aimed bring together studies that address drugs, and/or benzodiazepines, among populations directly indirectly affected by natural disasters. For this, an integrative was carried through a bibliographic search in PubMed LILACS databases, using descriptors related disasters drugs. Data collection analysis out two independent reviewers disagreements were resolved third reviewer. Thirteen articles included review, nine addressed only antidepressants, one, benzodiazepines three, both classes. All identified high prevalence increase most them (n=9), emphasis on earthquakes (n=5). Such findings demonstrate need provide proper care for well enable adoption measures, when necessary. addition, social support implementation measures prevention mitigation must be guaranteed.
